The Youth who Bathed himself in the Blood of a Dragon. (Siegfried of the Nibelungenlied). A strong young man slays a dragon and bathes himself in its blood. Thereafter he has a tough skin which no weapon can penetrate [D1846.4.]. He dies from a wound in the only vulnerable spot on his body – his armpit, which the dragon’s blood has not touched.
