Throwing a Stone. An ogre (giant, devil, dragon) and a man (boy, tailor, Gypsy) compete to determine who can throw a stone higher: The one whose stone falls first to the ground will lose. The ogre throws a stone. The man throws a bird (sparrow, lark, bat), which never comes back [K18.3]. Cf. Type 1640.
