Fools Warn Thief what Not to Steal. A fool (fools) explains to a stranger (strangers) where in the house his valuables (e.g. food, money) are kept and where the key can be found. He warns the stranger not to steal. The stranger uses the key and steals the valuables [J2091].
In some variants, a fool tells a thief to come back later because the inhabitants of the house are still awake [J1392.2.1]. Cf. Type 1577*.
