Beschrijving
Thank God the Basket Is Ready. Each time when a basketmaker finishes a basket he wants his wife to say “Thanks God the basket is ready.” When his wife refuses to obey, he beats her. Other men (judge, lawyer, overseer, farmhand) of the happening who witness this tell the story to their wives. Those who would also not have been refused utter the thanks and are beaten by their husbands as well.
