Pretended Deafness. A man (farmer, farmhand, old man, woman) is asked to do something or is told something that he does not want to hear. He pretends to be deaf. But when something is said that he wants to hear, he can hear that [Cf. K231.15]. Cf. Types 1698G, 1698J.
