The Extraordinary Names. This miscellaneous type comprises various tales in which animals, people, or things are called by unusual names, which leads to confusion or disaster. The basis for the misunderstanding is either that the usual names have been switched (in humorous anecdotes) or that different names are adopted because of their symbolic, accoustic, or nonsense value (in cumulative tales, sayings, songs, and rhymes) [F703, X1506].
